EVANGELISM
Evangelism is making the gospel known to those who do not know it in the hopes that they may be turned to God in faith, as well as making it more effectively known to those already in the church, that their faith may grow in clarity and strength. Evangelism is the sharing of the Good News. Evangelism is every possible way of teaching outside the church to make contacts with people, to cultivate their knowledge of Christian faith and living. Evangelism is the linking of human life to the story of Jesus Christ.
The Evangelism team works to bring the Good News to people, both externally and internally, through phoning first time visitors, visiting prospective members, maintaining nametags and the pictorial directory of all St. Luke Saints, planning the annual "Bring a Friend" Sunday and new member reunions, assisting with the seniors' ministry, supporting the greeters, maintaining the visitors' guest book, placing advertisements, and updating our listing in the local Yellow Pages. The committee makes signs and produces materials which are used to communicate St. Luke's mission and activities, such as bookmarks, church brochures and informational packets. The committee is also supporting the St. Luke website.
